Assessment and individual consultation
The individual consultation is where we carry out a thorough interview with the patient and a physiotherapy assessment.
The consultation takes about one hour. During this time we ask the patient in detail about their current problem, and if they have pain, about its intensity and character; we review their medical documentation and carry out examinations to get an objective picture of what is causing the symptoms.
Even as the patient arrives at the clinic, we observe their body language for clues about the problem, since spontaneous movement reveals whether something is painful or restricted.
After taking a thorough case history, we use both passive and active techniques during the movement examination.
One such passive technique is passive mobilization, through which the physiotherapist gets a picture of the joint's range of motion, muscle condition and whether there is any abnormal deviation in the joint's movement. Through numerous manual techniques we can gather information about the condition of the muscles and connective tissues, their extensibility and tone.
With active movements and special tests we refine our emerging assessment of what may be causing the patient's problem. These tests specifically target differential diagnosis, meaning we give tasks that allow us to pinpoint the source of the problem even more precisely.
After the examination we inform the patient, meaning we explain what we found and discuss suitable therapy options and the treatment goals.
If during the examination we notice any other abnormality or symptom that requires medical investigation, we discuss this with the patient and, if necessary, recommend a specialist.
The individual consultation is therefore essential for us to provide a well-structured, carefully planned therapeutic path for the people who place their trust in us.
Please always bring your medical documents to the first consultation!
We also welcome you to a consultation if you are unsure which sport or form of exercise to choose, or if you would like a physiotherapist to carry out an assessment purely to prevent future musculoskeletal problems.
