Schroth therapy (scoliosis)

Schroth therapy (scoliosis)

Schroth therapy is proven to currently be the most effective method for treating scoliosis.

During treatment, the spine undergoes a three-dimensional correction. The therapy achieves this by having the child initiate movements and muscle contractions from a corrective body position, complemented by a special breathing technique.

The exercises themselves, based on the asymmetry of the scoliosis, will include asymmetric movements tailored to the specific type of scoliosis involved.

At the start of therapy it is important for the child to get a clear picture of their deformity, to feel it and to understand its nature!

The physiotherapists' goal during the exercises is not only immediate improvement but also educating the children so that they can apply the corrections in everyday life over the long term.

Recommended from age 8! For younger children, the physiotherapist decides during the consultation whether the child is already able to learn the corrective positions. If not, our physiotherapists can provide a foundational, Schroth-preparatory exercise program for the child.

Every child is a unique, independent personality and a feeling soul who must be nurtured and protected, so during therapy we try to provide the most suitable environment and atmosphere.

If an orthopedic or pediatric rehabilitation specialist examination has taken place, or an X-ray has been taken, please bring the medical documentation and X-ray images to the first session!
