Szőke Szonja
Physiotherapist
Welcome!
I am Szonja Szoke, physiotherapist and human kinesiologist.
I completed my physiotherapy studies at the Faculty of Public Health of the University of Debrecen in the summer of 2019. I consider myself highly committed both to my profession and to the people who turn to me.
After university I worked as a group class instructor and personal trainer in a gym, with dancers using an injury-prevention and rehabilitation approach, as a strength and conditioning coach for a volleyball team, as a physiotherapist in home nursing care, and in several private clinics.
I believe that acquiring the latest knowledge is extremely important for creating up-to-date exercise programs. Whenever I can, I expand my existing knowledge so I can approach the current problem from as many angles as possible and offer the best possible solution. This is why I chose the Human Kinesiology master’s program at the Hungarian University of Sports Science in 2021, where I gained broad knowledge of sports movement analysis, sports rehabilitation, physical ability development and the principles of planning personalized training programs. Alongside the program, I was able to apply the knowledge gained at the university with students of the Debrecen basketball academy.
My pregnancy opened a completely new professional area for me. I completed several further trainings and became familiar with prenatal and postnatal exercise programs, as well as treatment and assessment principles. Since then, in addition to athletes, I have also worked with many pregnant and postpartum clients. Creating postnatal recovery plans and working together through the process brings me just as much joy as sports rehabilitation.
My motto: A year from now you will wish you had started today.
