HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is a dynamic training method in which high- and low-intensity training phases alternate. The high-intensity periods usually involve anaerobic exercises, while during the recovery periods the goal is to lower the heart rate through aerobic-type exercises or rest. Under the HIIT protocol, the duration of the work intervals is gradually reduced over time while the intensity of the exercises is increased, thereby boosting strength and endurance.
Research has shown that after interval training, metabolism can remain elevated for up to 48 hours, which significantly contributes to speeding up the body's fat metabolism and reducing subcutaneous fat tissue. HIIT also increases vital capacity and performance, and allows more calories to be burned in a shorter time than with a traditional aerobic workout.
This training method is especially recommended for those who want to reduce their body fat percentage, increase their cardiovascular endurance, or simply want to get the most out of themselves.
However, it is important to note that due to its intense nature, HIIT is not recommended for beginners!
